Open access model: Funding and costs

The Colombian Journal of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism operates under the "Diamond" open access model, which means that it does not charge authors in any of its phases, there are no submission, processing or publication costs, also known as Article Processing Charges (APC). The journal receives all its resources directly from the Colombian Association of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism (ACE) to be able to function on an annual basis and to support its human team, its technological infrastructure and the resources involved in the professional publishing processes to which its articles are submitted.

Advertising and conflicts of interest

The journal publishes advertising in its digital or printed version, of different products or services of organizations that have some kind of academic or commercial relationship with the Colombian Association of Endocrinology (ACE), however, none of the advertisers, pharmaceutical companies or companies have any kind of interference in the contents published in the journal.

Absolutely all publication decisions made in the journal are taken based on a careful evaluation of the scientific, academic and editorial quality of each manuscript received and through an independent process of review by external reviewers, under the "double-blind" system.

The journal's editorial and scientific committee is also involved in this process, supervising that each evaluation process is carried out in accordance with the editorial policy and safeguarding the independence of the actors involved.

Prior publication of submitted manuscripts

The Revista Colombiana de Endocrinología, Diabetes y Metabolismo performs an evaluation process using a "double-blind" system, which requires that the identity of both authors and evaluators be kept confidential throughout the process. Accordingly, the journal asks authors not to make previous publications of the manuscript to be submitted to the journal -in repositories, personal websites or open access sites-, as this would lead to the eventual disclosure of their identity, compromising the conditions of the journal's evaluation process.

Also, the journal requests its authors to refrain from publishing, in any case, previous versions of manuscripts that are in process in the journal, even when they have already been approved by reviewers, since the editorial preparation of the articles ( proofreading, design and layout) is carried out very efficiently by the journal (in a matter of days or a few weeks), since it is a journal of continuous publication.

Self-archiving

Authors have the possibility of archiving or self-archiving the articles published by the journal, in their final version, in institutional repositories, area or open access repositories, in academic social networks or in personal or academic websites, if they wish to do so. It is very important for authors to keep in mind that in each of these archives or self-archives of their published article, whenever possible, it is essential that they can include a complete reference to the original publication of the article directly on the journal's website and pointing out its Digital Object Identifier (DOI).

Copyright

The journal asks authors to sign an agreement on the transfer of rights to their article in order to formalize its publication. However, authors may make use of their published articles under the terms of the Creative Commons license used by the journal and are also authorized to reproduce or reuse them for academic, scientific or professional purposes.
