Abstract
SUMARIO
Se empleó una técnica Original para la extirpación de la glándula pineal. La pinealectomía en la rata hembra impúber, no produjo ningún cambio en el peso de los órganos endocrinos estudiados. La pinealectomía en la rata macho impúber produjo una disminución estadísticamente significante del peso de la pituitaria. Autotransplante de la glándula pineal en la rata hembra impúber produjo una aceleración de la abertura vaginal y un aumento en el peso de la cápsula suprarrenal, ambos hallazgos estadísticamente significantes.
SUMMARY
A new technique for pinealectomy was perfomed.
Pinealectomy in the inmature female rats caused no significative changes in the weight of the tested endocrine or gans. Pinealectomy in the inmature male rats caused a significative decrease in the pituitary weight. Autotransplantation of the pineal gland in the inmature female rat caused and acceleration of the opening of the vagina and an increase in the adrenal weight, both statiscally significant.
