Abstract
Fragmento.
En el curso de pocos años la Endocrinología ha presentado un cambio radical en varios de los conceptos que considerábamos como establecidos. Al origen de dichos cambios podríamos citar tres factores, a saber: a) La introducción, en todos los laboratorios de investigación y gran proporción de los laboratorios clínicos, de las técnicas de radioinmunoanálisis, lo cual ha permitido obtener datos sobre la concentración plasmática de hormonas, imposibles de obtener por las técnicas biológicas, b) El progreso en el conocimiento de la estructura química y la fisiología de las hormonas o factores hipotalámicos, y c) El concepto del “segundo mensajero hormonal”, el papel de la Adenil-ciclasa y el AMP cíclico en la transmisión intracelular del estímulo hormonal.
